Create Anyway

Do you think when Outkast wrote “Da Art of Storytellin’ Pt. 1” they knew they were crafting one of their greatest songs? That it would land at number four on the list of their top 20? That anyone with a stereo and even a little bit of Southern music knowledge would recognize it from the very first notes?

Or—do you believe, like I do—that they weren’t just chasing a hit, but honoring the importance of art? That they understood storytelling as something bigger than charts or popularity? As something that exists across mediums, transcends culture, and breaks down language barriers?

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the video shows the artist as a puppet—literally painting a story. And even without the visuals, both emcees used their voices to create entire worlds. Their lyrics are vivid, witty, gritty—pulling you in, guiding your emotions, and stretching your imagination. That’s the essence of a true storyteller. Art, in all its forms, matters. Your story matters!

Some artists want you to feel what they feel. Others use their art to release a pain that you might carry too—but struggle to put into words. And some just want to share joy so deep it can’t be fully explained. The medium might change. The artist might be debated. But the truth remains: art is essential to the human experience. It’s how we connect. How we heal. How we remember who we are.

And yet, life gets loud. The world tells you you don’t have time. That your art isn’t good enough. That it doesn’t matter.

Ignore it.

Create anyway.

Because you need it. The world needs it—even if they don’t always admit it or understand it. We are all threads in this giant tapestry of life. Colors in a spectrum. Each one beautiful on its own, but truly breathtaking together.
